Music
Music is an essential part of the worship and fellowship life of St. Andrew’s. Whether in the songs of our Episcopal 1982 Hymnal, the soulful music from Lift Every Voice and Sing or the rich and dynamic singing by the Adult Choir, singing accompanies the weekly rhythm of life at St. Andrew’s. Our Director of Music, Gabriellia McNiel, is working so that more of musical opportunities are also offered, and are a great way to experience the richness of the Anglican choral tradition for many kinds of worshippers, from those who want to sing more hymns to those who want to meditate as the choir worships on their behalf.
We invite you to join the Adult Choir on an occasional basis. The Choir is a great way to renew or try out the experience of singing in the choir. Information about rehearsals is available, just speak with Gabriellia or one of the choir members. Joining the group will offer an opportunity for those who would like to sing with the Adult Choir a chance to experience the joy of singing with others. Likewise, we welcome instrumentalists to join us in worship. If this interests you please talk with Gabriellia. We have had violinists, saxophone players, harpists, and singers all offer their gifts in worship.
We strive to offer a variety of styles of music drawn from our rich heritage as people who have come from different traditions but are brought together by a love of God and a passion for serving others.
